Dear Respected Colleagues and Friends,
I'm Hyun Seok Song, the 33rd President of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society.
The Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society will hold an international congress in March 27-28th, 2026. Our slogan is “Together, we can go further”. Our society members, along with many friends from around the world, will gather to share knowledge and exchange ideas on the shoulder and elbow.
We successfully hosted the International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in Jeju in 2016. Since 2020, it has been held as an international meeting, and each year many surgeons from various countries have joined us. They come as visitors at the beginning of the congress, but by the end, they have become close friends of our society.
KSES 2026 will feature plenary lectures, instructional course lectures (ICL), symposia, oral presentations, e-poster presentations, award sessions, a traveling fellowship session, and the editorial board meeting of Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow.
Distinguished invited speakers include Gerald R. Williams Jr. (former President of ASES; Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA), Teruaki Izaki (President of the Japan Shoulder Society; Fukuoka University, Japan), Roger van Riet (President of SECEC; University of Antwerp, Belgium), and Ekavit Keyurapan (President of TOSSM; KDMS Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand).
Thailand has been chosen as the guest nation for KSES 2026, and we anticipate a joint session that will foster profound academic discussions and meaningful exchange of ideas.
The congress has been held annually in Seoul, but this year, for the first time, it will take place in Busan. Busan is a dynamic coastal city in South Korea, famous for its stunning beaches like Haeundae and Gwangalli, as well as its fresh seafood markets such as Jagalchi. The city also hosts international events like the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and offers a unique blend of modern skyscrapers and traditional temples like Beomeosa. Busan is one of the most frequently visited and most desirable cities to live in for Koreans. It is conveniently located just 2.5 hours from Seoul by express train or 1 hour by domestic flight, and there are direct international flights from many major cities around the world.
We are preparing diligently to ensure a successful and meaningful meeting, and we warmly invite you to join us. We sincerely hope that many of you will attend.
